Hello, everyone! My name is Chloe Roppe, and art has been my lifeblood for as long as I can remember. I went to the Savannah College of Art and Design for a BFA in animation, though my concentration was in concept art and storytelling. As an educator, my experience also lies in the realm of animation; in the year between graduating and applying for TC, I worked as a part-time animation instructor for elementary students in Southern California. This job was what spurred me to pursue teaching in the first place.
Throughout undergrad, I began to move away from traditional art, despite my artistic background initially being in classical landscape painting. I primarily used ProCreate to draw, which is still my medium of choice, though I have made efforts to reconnect with traditional mediums as well.
I'm very excited about the stop-motion focus for animation in this class, as I feel it's going to be an incredible opportunity to both apply the knowledge I already have and explore something I've never done before, blending traditional art with the techniques and technology I'm used to.
